Frequently asked questions
Straight questions. Straight answers.
If the answer affects your home, your time, or your money, it shouldn’t be buried.
01What exactly does Home IT Crew do?+
We provide boutique home technology support—from fixing a computer that won’t start or Wi-Fi that won’t connect to designing connected homes, entertainment systems, gaming workstations, smart lighting, AI assistants, and complete dream-room or whole-home network installations.
02What areas do you serve?+
We serve homes within a 25-mile radius of the City of Columbus, Ohio.
03What are your prices?+
Everyday support is $125 per hour and home technology project crews are $185 per hour. The first 30 minutes of either is half price. Signature Builds use fixed starting prices, with 7% savings for any two, 10% for any three, or 12% for all four. See the complete Pricing page for scopes, hardware costs, and project examples.
04Do I get the same people for every phase of my project?+
Yes. You’re assigned a set crew who will learn your home, understand your goals, and build a real working relationship with you from planning through handoff.
05What makes Home IT Crew different from other home tech support companies?+
We combine technical skill with genuine hospitality. We listen before recommending, explain the plan clearly, work with purpose, protect your home, and stay accountable after installation. You won’t be handed from salesperson to scheduler to a stranger who has never seen your plan.
06Where can I find your Terms of Service?+
Read our plain-language Terms of Service. They cover estimates, project changes, payments, warranties, exchanges, the 30-day restore period, and the 90-day adjustment window.
07I have a question about something that was set up for me. Where can I get help?+
Use our contact form to reach the crew. After launch, you can also reply to your service confirmation or invoice to continue directly with the team assigned to you.
08Do you supply user guides and data sheets on the products you install?+
Yes. We provide the available OEM manuals and data sheets for installed products. Higher-end installations also include custom-made guides for your specific system, scenes, controls, and everyday routines. Whole-home network projects include a rack map, network diagram, device inventory, labeled connections, operating guide, and handoff walkthrough.
09Where can I find my invoice?+
Invoices will be delivered electronically after each visit or project milestone. Your email will include a direct invoice link; a customer invoice area is planned for launch.
10What payment methods do you accept?+
Planned launch methods are major credit and debit cards, ACH bank transfer, and check. The available methods and any payment schedule will appear on your estimate and invoice before work begins.
11Can I exchange products after they’re installed?+
Yes. For 90 days after installation, we’ll continue working with you on minor adjustments and reasonable equipment exchanges. A minor adjustment takes no more than four crew-hours and does not require new in-wall wiring, construction, or a major redesign. Product price differences, distributor restocking charges, and non-returnable equipment remain the customer’s responsibility and are disclosed before an exchange.
12What if I want everything restored to the way it was?+
For 30 days, standard projects qualify for our Restore Period. A standard project is completed within one crew-day and does not include in-wall or in-ceiling wiring, construction, or other irreversible alterations. We’ll remove our installed equipment and return recoverable connections and settings to their prior state without restoration labor charges. Larger whole-room and whole-home projects have project-specific restoration limits disclosed before work begins.
13What is your refund policy?+
Refunds follow the 30-day Restore Period and 90-day adjustment policy. Refundable equipment is subject to the manufacturer or distributor return window, product condition, restocking charges, and any price difference. Labor refunds apply when we fail to deliver the approved scope; preference changes are handled through the restore or adjustment process.
14What warranty applies to products you install?+
Installed products retain their original manufacturer warranty. We provide the warranty documentation and help coordinate a valid claim. Home IT Crew also warrants its installation workmanship for 90 days; that workmanship promise does not replace or extend an OEM product warranty.
15Are you insured and certified?+
Home IT Crew is preparing for launch. Before accepting customer work, the company and crew will carry appropriate insurance and every license or credential required for the services being performed. Documentation will be available on request. We will never describe a technician as certified unless that credential is current and verified.
16Can I rate an installation or recognize a specific technician?+
Yes. After launch, a review and crew-recognition form will be available after every visit and project. You’ll be able to rate the experience, share private feedback, and call out a specific crew member who went above and beyond.
